BIO Brazil Obata

Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF)

The farm was founded in 1850 by the Barretto family, with whom we have been working since 2014. They are known as one of the best farmers in Brazil and have a long history in coffee growing. Over the years, as they built their own family farm, they have teamed up with like-minded farmers to ensure the viability of farming for generations to come, with respect for the local ecosystem and nature.

This organic coffee tastes like milk chocolate, complemented by sweet, ripe cherries and a honeyed finish of raisins.

Ecological sustainability

The main idea behind setting up the farm was that we could only grow quality coffee if we respected the land and nature. Over the years, the network of farmers has increased. FAF now exports coffee on behalf of up to 150 small and sustainable farmers from across the region, united by a desire to grow quality coffee, protect nature and strengthen the local community. The farm is now run by Silvia Barretto and her husband, Marcos Croce.
