Gilberto Baraona was the head of a family business with over 130 years of tradition in specialty coffee. The Baraona family brings together 5 farms and a beneficio in the Usulutan region in the south-east of El Salvador, on the slopes of the Tecapa volcano. Gilberto was one of the most renowned coffee producers in El Salvador having won numerous awards in the world of specialty coffee winning 18 awards in various competitions.
Due to Gilberto's recent death, his children Diego and Fabiola have taken over the business to continue to carry on not only the tradition and legacy of their father, but also the experience, history and knowledge that his family has with coffee growing. They not only care about the quality of their coffee, but also about environmental and social responsibility.
