The Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative is a community of 320 farmers who reside and cultivate the land on a plateau that sits at the base of Mount Kerinci, one of the active volcanoes in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The rich volcanic soil surrounding the mountain has been enriched by the historical eruptions of Mount Kerinci, nourishing the crops and creating a lush, vibrant landscape. The coffee grown here has a taste profile of fresh berries, and tropical fruits that are a testament to the rich soil and growing conditions of the region.
The cooperative's operations are overseen by Triyono, who manages the cultivation, processing, and roasting of the coffee. The cooperative has a fully-equipped roasting facility, complete with a cupping lab adjacent to the dry mill, making it well-equipped to manage every aspect of coffee production. What is particularly impressive is that the Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative was founded in 2017, and in just a few years, they have established themselves as a model of coffee production and management, producing quality and consistent coffee.
